Below is a comprehensive collection of our mostpre-purchase frequently asked questionss:

Q: Can I use the Internet with this computer?


A: Yes, the computer comes with Windows XP professional which includes Internet Explorer which allows you to use the Internet. If you have bought the computer as an individual you will also receive 25 hours free Internet access through our ISP partner CanDoNet.

Q: Does the computer come with Microsoft Word and Excel?


A: Yes. Our computers come installed with Microsoft Office XP which includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Q: Does the computer come with a printer?


A: No, but you can purchase a basic printer from a computer store or Australia Post outlets for between $70 - $90.

Q: Is the computer suitable for school and TAFE work?


A: Yes the computer will meet the needs of most users and allow them to do most if not all their TAFE and school work.

Q: Can we play games on the computer?


A: The computer is not suitable for sophisticated games, however it can play most basic games as well as interactive learning software. (Note: Please check the minimum requirements of any new programs against the PC specifications before purchasing or installing them.)

Q: Can the computer operate other Microsoft software?


A: Check the specifications against any software before you buy it.

Q: What happens if something goes wrong with the computer?


A: The hardware is covered by a three month hardware warranty. We will also provide 30 mins free phone support for software and installation problems.

Q: How do I pay for the computer?


A: You can pay for the computer by money order, bank cheque or direct deposit only. We also accept personal cheques which will incur a minimum 7 day delay. Unfortunately we do no accept credit cards.

Q: I don’t have the money right now – Can I pay it off?


A: Yes, WorkVentures has established a Purchase Plan which is interest and cost free. The Purchase Plan is designed to assist those customers who cannot afford to pay up front. Talk to our Call Centre on 1800 112 205. Alternatively you may be eligible for financial assistance through Centrelink or the No Interest Loans Scheme (ask for more details from your Centrelink office).

Q: How long will it take to receive the computer once I have paid for it?


A: Plan for a minimum delivery time of 2 weeks from when we confirm payment; however we will attempt to build and ship the PC as quickly as possible.

Q: Can I pick up the computer to save on delivery costs?


A: Yes, you can avoid delivery charges if you are able to collect from our Mascot production facility. Please discuss this option with the Call Centre on 1800 112 205.

Q: Does the computer include a CD or DVD burner?


A: Our PCs come standard with a CD Rom which will allow you to play music and use interactive CDs. We can install a DVD burner at an additional cost. (Please discuss with Call Centre operators)

Q: Does the computer come with speakers?


A: No, however it does have a sound card and you can purchase speakers fairly cheaply at a computer store
