WorkVentures Connect is in the business of turning ex corporate and government PCs and peripheral equipment into affordable systems for disadvantaged families, schools and not for profit organisations around Australia. WorkVentures has been successfully partnering with corporations, state and federal governments for over 20 years and together we have been trying to bridge many of the social problems facing our communities. One of the most recent issues in the community is the resolution of the environmental impact of redundant PC equipment and also the digital divide of the new ‘have and have nots’, that is, those with access to PCs for skills and internet access and those individuals who lack this ability.
WorkVentures Connect has been able to have donated to it or has purchased from corporations and government, PCs that were in many cases destined for landfill. By recycling these perfectly capable PCs into the needy community, we have been able to help solve these issues.

WorkVentures Connect will complete all hardware refurbishment, with internal and external cleaning and installation of operating systems and software. All systems have either a 56k modem or 10/100 network cards installed - ready for the Internet!

WorkVentures Connect objectives are:

To create entry level jobs and offer skills development opportunities at WorkVentures Connect to disadvantaged jobseekers to enable themselves to establish permanent careers with other companies.

To provide PCs and other IT equipment to enable disadvantaged communities, non-profit organisations and schools to participate in the information society/economy and share its benefits

To operate in a way that is environmentally responsible/defensible and demonstrates good stewardship and that all our waste is recycled in a way that meets good environmental practices.

To create an ongoing, economically sustainable venture which builds both social and physical capital and benefit
